The Tiger (photos)

Angela wanted me to take a good photo of the tigers at the Detroit Zoo. One of the tigers was in quarantine until Jan 6th, and one is being shipped to another zoo. That left only the female outside. She is just beautiful.

 

I didn't realize her whiskers look stripped until I looked at the photos.

I took quite a lot of photos....these are just some of them. I guess I should mention that she is a Siberian Tiger and endangered.

These are totally awesome -- my Chinese Zodiac animal is the tiger, and I've always loved the big cats (leopards too). No wonder I'm waiting for Apple to come out with the Snow Leopard operating system! Thanks for posting this -- lovely but also deadly!!

These are great photos. Makes you realize why the line 'Tiger, tiger burning bright' is so apt. She really does seem to burn. And the eyes! It must be terrifying to meet one in the grass. What an amazing animal!
