We went snorkeling in Tortola, one of the two excursions we booked for our cruise. This wasn't the best place we ever snorkeled but it was nice. Chankanaab National Park in Cozumel still holds the number one spot for me. We went by catamaran to a lovely area with coves and beautiful scenery. The boat ride was very nice and there was room below with nice seating out of the sun which is a plus for me. I burn so easily. They played some nice Caribbean music and served rum punch too. I think there were about thirty of us that went out this morning. The people were so nice and really attentive, making sure we were all safe and having a good time. As we were snorkeling there was an underwater photographer taking our photos for the cruise ship and another diver feeding the fish so we could see the different species that lived in the water. After snorkeling we went to a little place that served drinks and food and had a chance to enjoy a little beach. I didn't get any underwater photos, but I did take a lot of photos of the area we snorkeled in and also the beach where we stopped after.
Coves where we went snorkeling.

View from the beach.

Along the shoreline where we were snorkeling.

We weren't the only ones there so I got some photos of the other boats.

Views from the boat, people were sun bathing on the decks, I picked an area where there weren't any people to get a photo.

Pulling into the beach after snorkeling.

We saw a lot of brown pelicans. They were beautiful. I enjoyed seeing them more than the fish I think.

We were actually in the water with these beautiful birds.

DH looking at the pelicans.

I watched this pelican catch a fish.

The younger crowd enjoyed this trampoline and float.

So there you have some photos of the area we snorkeled in and the boats and pelicans. This was a wonderful morning. We were totally exhausted after the trip and all the swimming. We were going to go to a beach after lunch but we just couldn't find the energy. DH was still having trouble with his back and leg and I think he really over did it on this excursion.
As always, I hope you will view the photos as a slide show since they all aren't in the article.
I'll have one more Tortola photo essay with the left over photos of some scenes and boats.

That floating trampoline looks FUN!!!
Lee, we were wishing we were 50 years younger also. Thanks for the nice comment.
I think this may be my favorite beach you have shown so far.
I like secluded little beaches. I love how there's nothing but trees going up the hill from the beach.
Thanks for sharing all of your gorgeous photos that you have accumulated along the way along with the memories.
Those pics of the water are just stunning - what a fun place. So I guess this is in Mexico?
