I was on Gather late last night and getting ready to sign out when a post titled "Missing Family" caught my eye. I went to read it and it is a letter to me from a distraught and heartbroken Woman in Alabama whose Niece and her Daughters and Son disappeared on Christmas Day, 1996 from Fayettville, NC.
She had found an article I had written back on July 22, 2008 about a set of 5 Human skeletons that were located in NH between 1985 and 2000. All in the Bear Brook Stae Forest. DNA tests proved all 5 were related. She is going to contact the Police in NH about these remains.
Her Nieces, Robby Ann Floyd and her sister Jennifer Jane Hughes, 17, and Robby's children Sarena Glenn, 11 and 3 year old twins Brenttany and Brent Hughes vanished into thin air.
Neighbors said that they saw Robby packing up her Blue van at her Mother-in-Laws house on Christmas Day, 1996. Robby left her youngest son with his father, Jason Floyd in NC.
Robby's family in Alabama did not realize that they were missing until 1998. Robby's phone had been disconnected and her and Jason were going through some financial problems. Every time Robby's Mother would try and call Jason at his mother's the phone was busy. It wasn't until someone called from a different telephone number that Jason's mother answered and revealed how long it had been since Robby and the children had been seen in NC.
Sue Hamilton, Robby's Aunt has been trying to find them since. She has called agencies and pleaded for help on behalf of Robby's Mother, and still no word, no idea what happened to these 5 people.
I talked to her this morning and decided to write the article in hopes that someone will see it and recognize this Family. Sue is adament that either Robby or one of the Children would have contacted Family members by now.

I heard about that case. We lived in Fayetteville for years.
why would this guy not contact the police if he had not heard from her?
this is very strange, that they were not reported missing sooner by someone.
