My eyes see beauty when I look at a scene such as this one.

I see a beautiful house at peace. Old planks remembering. Trees bathed in the solitude of snow and time. What do you see? Salud

Nce use of metaphors with this outstanding picture.
Thank you Jessie - yes, I see that as well and there aren't many wide planks like that around - that place was once a forest.
thank you Courtney.
Thank you William -
Ahhhh David - the beginning of spring - such beautiful words in the cold light of Winter - thank you! Salud
Miz Phaedra - cajun sister - thank you very much! Salud
I "see" hidden memories.
I see a story about hardship and unfulfilled dreams ... we all start out with hopes and dreams, but what happens when the years go by and the dreams are never fulfilled? What happens when we find ourselves in in a situation so far removed from our dreams that we can only think we've failed? This house definitely has a story ... but I think it's wretched and miserable and heartbreaking.
This photo is VERY powerful!
I will inquire about it though Lord knows I don't need another place to restore! but I hate to see this torn down as my old Victorian was before I had a chance to move it to my property - wonderful to hear all the different views folks see!
Thank you roy - I think we're on the same wave link !
I love that phrase, hidden memories - yes, yes - that's it for sure!
Maria, I see peace as well and I think I'll always remember this house - no matter what - actually, I've photographed it quite a bit over the years - but the winter seems to bring out something...Salud
beautiful shot, my sweet.
Meagan, good words - history, cold, light
these expressions almost seem poetic.
Thank you Marianne...
I see the past as well - I only want to see the past - if I come back and this lovely house is no longer here - even though it's in a state of arrested decay - I will be heartbroken if I have to look at some pre-fab sitting there -
I am pure nostalgia! Thank you all so very much. Salud
I see this through an artist's eyes.
What happened there, who lived there, why did they stop loving it?
But I also see memories, better times, children's laughter, a garden, a wish for restoration..
Kay - I love that term "rugged charm" - really neat!
Ahhh Michael - you are so creative - 1956 - yes, what a good year - I was all of 7~!
Sharon - dust to dust and yes, it's returning to nature - I think that there was some kind of family dispute and no one wanted to sell or care for the house so this is what has happened - I'm still digging!
Debra - I see it through artistic eyes as well - thank you all so very much!!! Salud
Great photo.
And what a good eye you have my dear. I see old timers making do with what they had and surviving with grace and dignity.
Cheers,
Colonel Possum
thanks Ms. Debbie that's a wonderful idea!
Ah Priscilla - I wonder!
Janet - thank you. Salud
Ellie, I see that too amazing what is really there - huh...thanks so much. Salud
Salud from Moscow - S.
Shannon, thank you - it's like an aura around the area,
Svetlana - I like that - another dimension as only time can be - in many dimensions - yes, indeed very true!
Thank you for your comment, C.F. I like the joy of simplicity because though the life may have been full of daily chores, I think that there is joy in accomplishing things and doing things everyday - for many, the old days were much better than today.
C.F. I chose this picture out of so many that I take daily because though I find beauty in this type of scene, others may consider it an eyesore...I absolutely love all the comments here...
Madame Donna, I do as well - thank you for viewing this scene!
Monica - Oh what a pleasant visual - thank you.
Ahhh Miz Vicky - you are probably so right - yes, that happens all the time and I am still digging for answers - this is a gold mining town and people move on to find jobs - times change. So many stories.
Krista - speaking of flannels - here I sit in mine - thank you dear friend!
Tonia, I love old wood - the patina, the depth, the natural feeling of an old forest, thank you.
John, yes, I knew you would like it - thank you all so very much! I appreciate all of you taking the time to view this! Salud
