I'm enjoying my second cup of morning coffee when I look at my feeders and I see it. The weirdest looking purple finch I have ever seen. I have seen them with their crest up before, but this guy looks like he used way to much gel this morning.

I couldn't help but wonder what on earth happened to his crest to make it stand up like this.

His "hairdo" kind of matches his attitude.

This photos were taken in a low light situation, morning on the south side of my home. So the pictures are not super clear and a little dark.

That is so awesome. I love to feed the birds and see what comes in. We are at the cabin for the winter so I stopped feeding the birds back home months ago and because of all the critters up here I have never had feeders here.
