After working for a trash company for two years in the state with the most strict EPA laws in the country and I actually have done a few term papers of different areas of the EPA so I have done research, not an expert but aware, if it was me I would turn into the next Erin Brockovich and fight like hell ! moving is not feasible for me right now but fighting for a cause is!

I would drink bottled water, and find out what vitamins I could take and give my family which would act as an antidote for these toxic substances. There are actual products that one can take which will create an immunity in the system. 'One has to do research.

Very cool Kimmie and Claudia. I think the same. It's not feasible for me either right now and I would stock up on the bottled water and check into what I could do to fight it.
I think otherwise if I had small children though. Losing one to cancer already has me racking my brain to this day if there was anything I could have done to prevent it. I am told there wasn't, but it's something I can't let go.

Get on a writing campaign to the newspaper, talk to lots of people, demand local government start testing, report results and do something within a reasonable time, etc. And I'd go to bottled water. I know communities that have had this problem, and I've heard that the community our family lives in now has had that problem in the past (about 1-2 decades ago). I don't think this is really a rare problem.

well said Kim, my kids are not small, 14 & 18, but if was knowingly endangering them than we would get the hell out of Dodge, even more ammunition for me to fight like hell!!!! I am so sorry about your loss, that is devastating, I hope you can get some of the answers you need to be able to know that it was not your fault or that there is not more you could have done, a few years back I had a close co worker of 6 yrs die from a heartattack that started at work, I had to call 911 and her husband and it took me a long time to come to terms that I did do everything I could.. She was just 30 years old and had 2 small daughters...
