I'd like to cruise off to an island
I don't really care which one
As long as there is a sandy beach
And lots of warm loving sun
Doesn't that just sound great
Get out of this Winter blast
For it started snowing again
It's coming down really fast
I know just where I'd like to be
by the blue Caribbean Sea
I hear it calling my name
Would someone like to go with me
It could be like the great escape
We won't come back till it is spring
When flowers are poking their heads up
And the birds begin to sing
I'm really raring and ready to go
Packing my bags, getting away
Someone should come so I don't make a mistake
And get hooked on some old fat guy's sleigh

Thanks for posting to Absolutely Everything Winter
I should have spent the last 2 months on the sunny beaches of Mexico. But, along came my teenage daughters in need. So, instead of Mexico, I spent two months in court getting custody of these 2 sweet rascals!
I never would have guessed November and December would be warmer and sunnier in Oregon than it would have been in Mexico!
I can't believe how much warmth and sunshine those two girls brought into my dreary winter!
By the way, this is a great piece of writing!

Just exactly what I was looking for..........
:) Cute Santa reference there at the end...ha ha!
The other day I got so tired of looking out the window at snow, that I "googled" the world's greatest beaches, and fantasized being there. Turned out the beach I liked best was in Carolyn Madden 's back yard. Australia, here I come.
Oh...when it's you...sure...lemme pack my bag....wow...beautiful.
Thanks for sharing Elsie.
This is a really cute poem, and for a brief moment really took away my winter blues. Ok back to reality.
I'll be a waiting

I enjoyed your poem!
I've tried to send you an outside e-mail twice tonight in response to your last one but it keeps coming back as being undeliverable. This had better not mean that you've already left for the South Sea without me!
