Elections have consequences. We won. They lost.
One cannot miss the irony or demagoguery over, for example, the selection of Leon Panetta to head the CIA. The arguments seem to center around experience. What kind of experience? Any experience? Experience at failing is now good experience.
George H. W. Bush had no intelligence experience when he took over the agency. He had less government experience than Panetta with a thinner resume.
Why don't we ask them, the losers, who exactly they have in mind. Let me see. The top CIA officials who told us that Saddam had Weapons of Mass Destructions (WMD). Or one the top officials from the State Department who ignored memo after report about Al Qaeda in 2001.How about Condy Rice, neocons? She is qualified. National Security Adviser, Secretary of State, that would make you happy right? Laughable. Reality bites. You lost - republicans lost. Be miserable, it's quite funny to see them unhappy. This will be a very good four years. Watch them moan and cry at every Obama turn. Sweet.
Elections have consequences. Those folks at the CIA cannot be allowed to head the agency. The majority of them are tainted by the controversial interrogation and surveillance tactics.
"Torture is illegal, immoral, dangerous, and counterproductive," he wrote. "All forms of torture have long been prohibited by American law and international treaties respected by Republican and Democratic presidents alike."
Those are Panetta's words. You can't find anyone like that from the CIA. That's CHANGE you can believe in. If nothing else changes, the CIA will.
You won't shape Obama's cabinet. You can dance when he picks Gates. Keep on whining for all other picks. Have a lovely four years.
The director of the agency has far less power than pre 2004. Yeah, Bush made the government bigger with the creation of a National Intelligence Director. This person, who will be the CIA's director's boss

I do think Obama is suffering from inexperience and his choices are designed to put experience into key positions except for the head of the CIA. I just hope he can keep all these people under control especially Gates.
Me neither. It's unavoidable. Democrats with experience got it from the Clinton years. If you have no Clinton people, you would have people without experience at the Federal level. Unless you bring republicans from either Bushes or Carter people or people.
He picked folks like Napolitano, Daschle, Gates. That's homeland Security, Health, and Defense. None from the "Clinton" administration.
