Z Why not X, It seems a J just might do
Now we're getting somewhere, maybe truth
Robert Cawdrey or Samuel Johnson, swig of beer
Devised a perfect spelling Till Noah Webster appeared
Language growing on, real changes in society
A need to paint new songs, seems close to piety
Peace be it gentle, instrumental, lasting effect
Interrogatives have no answers, well there's affect
Minds of young children, broken down neighborhoods
Day in day out, the same scenery, could, would, should
Nation proud and free, greatest in human history
Continue sweeping problems under the rug. How come?
Every sandbox has a pulpit, every idea has a theme
Bureaucratic detail, code for staying, square one dream
So many rantin' and raving, yet so still at the source
Accelerated money spent inaction, bye bye real need
Is there an ever when something is finally complete?
So we'll really be a society supportive, of real peace

Great and timely poem, Bill.
"Is there an ever when something is finally complete?
So we'll really be a society supportive, of real peace"
No, I don't think so - if we wait for completeness, we will attain it individually, in our own death, but never as a society - it is not possible.
We need to live today, celebrate today, and make peace today - not someday...
Bureaucratic detail," Alas it is too true.
The rabbit’s grave
You said it all, William. Poverty and War - neither is necessary, yet we have it - right here and the world over.
Sometimes it seems like we are bent on destroying ourselves, poisoning our minds and those of our children, destroying our lifegiving planet. Starvation in every sense of the word.
Thanks for sharing your poem.
Lovely, poem, and thanks for posting to my group, Anythingwriting
So we'll really be a society supportive, of real peace"...
