Wow, it has been a long time. So long, in fact, it is difficult to remember the character's names.
But the script and casting is superb. Marc Cherry done good.
Dave Williams is even more of an enigma as he begins to unravel. Seems he needs a refill on his prescription, but since he murdered his doctor, that is difficult. Karen and sis, played by Lily Tomlin, find themselves in the good doctor's office, but, of course, they have no idea the good doctor is dead.
Nor does the secretary, who, when Dave Williams does call, manages to arrange for the on-call doc to refill his prescription at his new address: Wisteria Lane.
Too bad that Lily Tomlin just said to Karen: "I'm done here, Karen. Tapped out. Find yourself someone else for this wild goose chase." Karen and Tomlin both leave the room and never hear that Williams was on the phone.
When Edie is disappointed Dave wants to stay home instead of going out dancing, it looks like Edie goes alone, saying:
"You should know this about me. I don't stay unhappy for long."
Williams unravels further later in the show when, after snapping at Edie and letting his personal appearance go, he begins to talk to his dead wife and child. Edie catches him talking to thin air at the dining room table and questions him about it. When Dave confesses he was once married, Edie insists he packs his bags.
Susan: A tiff between Lee and his partner/husband witnessed by Susan produces some good lines and good laughs, when Susan and Lee go out. To a gay bar, Lee reminds Susan. No problem, Susan says.
They talk about Jackson who wants Susan to move to Riverton. Susan becomes drunk, Lee becomes drunk, and the next thing the two of them (and the audience) know, is that Lee spent the night in Susan's bed, after drinking wine and listening to Jazz. Both are in their underwear. Susan assumes the worst, and the script is left open. But of course, Lee is gay, and his partner comes to Susan to ask if she thinks that Lee slept with another man.
By this time, Gabby is at Susan's house and cackles like a witch at this hilarious scene. Susan manages to save herself to say, "Oh, don't worry, Lee didn't sleep with another man."
Susan then confronts Lee himself to ask if they 'got it on.'
Lee reminds her: "Hello! I'm gay!" Which of course, the astute audience knew all along.
Bree meets the mother of Andrew's boyfriend. Another redhead. And a match for Bree, except that this new redhead is trash where Bree is uptight. They fight about who will handle the holidays, and this new woman takes her place at the head of the table - Bree's table, just before she announces that a doctor she knows in Oakdale (could that be Oakland?) needs someone like her son to take over his practice. Seems the real estate is too pricey in Fairview and both mothers are determined to have their sons nearby, so Brie announces she has just bought the Adams house for the guys.
Porter/Preston/Tom/Lynnette: Incredible drama. Remember when Mr. Schilling threatened to kill Porter? Well, Porter was so scared he hid, leaving Preston to cover for him. His attorney (Lee's partner) cannot figure out why 'Porter' cannot remember his story, when little Penny accidentally spills the beans that 'Porter' is Preston.
Lynnette confronts Preston, even steals his cell phone when Porter is calling, and insists Preston tell her where Porter is. Seems the restaurant is in danger if they need to post bail for Porter. Preston accuses his mom of preferring the restaurant over Porter.
Lynnette then has Preston in her car and drove him to a bad side of town. She then tells Preston that when she had children she never knew how much she'd love them that she'd do anything, anything at all, to protect them.
She then said that Mr. Schilling drinks at this bar and leaves every night about this time. On this night, Lynnette said, she will do what it takes to make sure Mr. Schilling will never hurt Porter, and that now, Preston must get out of the car, because he cannot be in the car when that happens.
Of course, she is calling his bluff. She'd be great at poker. Preston is scared and tells her when Porter is. Apparently, at her mom's.
Gabby and Carlos. Since he got his sight back, he's quit his job at the country club, since he decided that giving massages to middle-aged men and women with fat, flabby bodies is pretty disgusting. Gabby is astounded that he quit his job because they need the money.
Gabby is downtown eyeing the clearance sales when an old buddy of Carlos runs into her. He lets it become known that he has a terrific job Carlos would be great at, one with perks and a fat, high 6-figure salary.
She accepts the job on Carlos' behalf, but, unbeknownst to her, Carlos took a job at the community center, helping the blind.
Gabby wants the rich life again. She invites this guy to dinner, with his rich wife, and asks Carlos to consider the deal. The rich wife, beautiful as she is, is a vulgar drunk and storms out of the dining room with a wine bottle, asking for a divorce.
Things look bad on the job front, but after considering the deal, and realizing he can perhaps help the blind and make stinking, good money, too, Carlos calls his friend to accept the job.
That's all I could remember!
