I found a nice quote for the start of the new year, when everyone is focused (or not focused) on working on a little self-improvement.  It's an older quote, and still a relevant one, I think.

I think that there is much truth in this quote. I find that I am at my happiest when I am learning and growing in a new hobby, business opportunity or new creative project.
