I saw something (please don't think i'm crazy)

Interesting Heather. I'm hating you were frightened, but I'd love to wander through and check it out. Long story, but in fact I have some experience. :)

i have always been interested in the paranormal ..I never miss ghost hunters but it is soooo completely different when your not expecting it.

I've heard of that happening to people. I heard a couple different theories about it. One is a person's eyes are playing tricks on them. The other is it comes from watching shows and the memories and imagination kick in. There is another one I've heard but I don't like to go there.

Boo! LOL! He's thinking the same thing...there's something down here that shouldn't be. Make sure you take someone down with you whenever you go. Strength in numbers...and to prove you're not koo koo for Cocoa Puffs. I don't know what 'danger' is involved, but I don't get a warm, fuzzy feeling from this one. I don't know if he's mean or 'evil', but he definitely doesn't have a friendly feeling about him.

every time i go down there i feel like i'm being watched the hair on the back of my neck stands up so i try to hurry with whatever i'm doing but this is the first time i've ever seen anything

Maybe a 4th or 5th dimension? :) Just joking it off here. I've heard of the spiritual side of things but it creeps me out. So I try to just joke it off. If it was me and it happened here, I'd have the place blessed. But that is just me.

It's happened to 'us' as a family over and over. I even have stories on here about our experiences. Of course, I don't think you're crazy, I want you to find out the history of your house!!! I'm so excited for you. ;)

Animals are very intuitive. Our daughter's cat use to purr and rub up against nothing but to see it, it looked like he was rubbing against someone's leg. It was very strange. We'd just say hello Mr. Eddie. We knew it was him.

If you are uncomfortable try telling 'it' to leave. Burn some white candles. I know that sounds weird but it may just work.

Here's another one. This kind of freaked my husband and me out. The house was pretty new and we weren't expecting it at all.

This actually happened at our best friends' home.

Heather, we didn't tell anyone but each other about our 'encounters' for a long time. I was scared to death people would think we were crazy as loons. We're not. lol We are just normal people that some how run into this. I guess we are pretty accepting now and open minded about it. Some people are drawn to homes like this or places. I have found out through a little research that every single house we have ever lived in since we've been married, has had someone die in it. This is the only one we thought hadn't. Until this past fall. I was talking to the man next door about the former people. He said "They weren't the original owners. The old man that built the house died right there in the livingroom." UGH!! Luckily, this one has been free of any weird happenings. We do have problems with photos taken inside the house but that's it, so far.

Donna would be a good one to ask, Why Now!! You may have triggered something or it may have been there all along and you are just now noticing it because of the baby and the dog.

Maybe it was your shadow, take a big mean dog down with you next time..

Nope, I don't think you're crazy.

I don't think you're crazy, I think you saw something. It's always good, too, to pay attention to an animals reactions. I don't find that they are typically afraid to be in the area of a 'ghostly' being, unless there is something 'off' about them (the being). It doesn't necessarily mean the being is evil or has ill intent. It has to do with their vibration. If the being themself is highly afraid, an animal will react to that vibration, if the being died traumatically and carries that memory most closely to him/herself, the animal will react to that vibration. Either of those situations could cause an animal to not want to be near it, to act fearful. So don't automatically think 'evil' or that it might mean any harm. I don't know how long you've lived in your home, but if you've been there for awhile and there hasn't been anything occur to indicate there is harm intended, you're most likely quite safe. If you find yourself feeling like you're being stared at intently again, speak aloud to the area you 'feel' he/she is at and tell them how it's making you feel. Ask them not to stare at you. Offer them an alternative to try that won't cause you to feel uncomfortable, but that (if you're willing) will let them alert you to their presence. Sometimes it eases them to know that someone is aware of them. If this is an earthbound spirit, this might be all that is needed to allow them to begin to let go of this earth's vibration and the memories that are holding them.

I've had ghosts (earthbound spirits) and other beings around me all my life. I once shared an attic space with a man who had killed himself. His vibration was highly uncomfortable for me, because of the way he thought about himself (he saw himself as a murderer and horrible person, not worthy of dirt). While it isn't something I researched, through inner communication I learned that due to an accident his family died. He blamed himself, which is why he took his own life. Once he understood my perspective, his energy began to 'soften' (he was beginning to realize that what happened was not his fault). Still, that attic was divided into two rooms, one was my bedroom. I was uncomfortable with him being in there so often. He agreed to remain on the other side of the attic and allow me my privacy. I never had another problem and within a few months his energy was completely gone. I believe that he finally let go of those memories and forgave himself, and no longer needed to cling to this dimension.

We never miss Ghost Hunters either. The new season of Ghost Hunter International starts WED YEA!!! If it was me I would get a recorder and leave it down there and see if you get anything on it. Now I am a bit of a chicken I would not sit there asking questions I would just leave it and say I am leaving this here if you would like to leave me a message. Now my hubby would stay down there asking questions.

I have never experienced the paranormal, but that would make me a bit frightened. I am a very curious person, I would have grabbed a bat and went to check it out (the bat would be just in case there was something physically there)

it is always pretty cold down there so i didn't really notice when i saw it though i did get a chill through my body.

There are not always logical answers to the things that we see or feel. Perhaps it was a spirit.

While some such images we may see are tangential entities in parallel realms, those that are "present" are often Devayonis, and more often than not are beneficial to us, can even be called to come forth to teach us. I speak from a non-sentimental insight, more from knowing than believing or sentimentalising.

Animal's instincts are quite strong. If the dog wont go down there, then there is definitely something amiss. it would be interesting to know the history of the house.

Not a good sign. Animals and babies are good indicators of what spirits are bad or good. I think you mentioned your baby "laughing" at something -- the baby can see it, but you can't. That's good.

When you see children afraid of what they are seeing, that is normally not a very good sign. And they can "SEE" those things that most adults cannot see.

Very interesting Discussion Heather -- and no, you are definitely not crazy. You're just very attuned.

I was also going to ask how old the house is, and you've already answered that too.

The other night my boyfriend was taking a shower and when he finished he came out and asked if i was making noises outside the door of the bathroom of course i wasnt so i dont know what it could have been.

Interesting. I wonder if much like this will happen in the future.

I like creepy, do you know anyone who investigates the Paranormal? I'd like to know what they'd find.

Are you renovating the house? Sometimes the spirit of a previous owner who died on their property gets stirred up by the house being changed in a significant way. I agree with the commenters above who said do a history check and ask the neighbors if they know anything about the house too!
You could find a local paranormal research group and have them come if your near PA there is the Paranormal state team (they have a show on lifetime I think) they bring a psychic and they do cleansing rituals. If you don't want that a priest or pastor may be able to come in and bless the house. My babies laughed and smiled at things we couldn't see but I know that it was my mom or one of my grandparents coming to say hi so I wasn't scared.

I'm such a scaredy cat that I think I would not go in the basement ever again, no matter if I had to or not. I'd do some research on the home that you live in and see if anyone died there or anything violent happened there... check it out and let us know.

I do not believe in things that go bump in the night, well, maybe two-legged ones, but come on! shadows can play tricks on the eyes....things look a lot bigger than they really are. It a four legged creature was down there and it was crawling above the area of your head, and the light was at your back...shadowing will make this image. But I will say that your dog whining is something you should take heed too. Relax though...it is probably just a critter a lot more scared of you than you of it.     But it could be an escapee from the Zoo...don't let anyone spook you into thinking it is something paranormal.....................if you are still worried, put some food out, ya know maybe it was a human taking shelter from the storm.
