NASSAU (Reuters) - The teenage son of actor John Travolta died suddenly on Friday during a family vacation in the Bahamas, according to the family's lawyer.
Jett Travolta, 16, suffered a seizure at his family's vacation home at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island, attorney Michael Ossi said.

Attempts were made to revive him, but he died at the scene, Ossi said.

Jett, who had a history of seizures, was the eldest child of Travolta and his wife, actress Kelly Preston. They also have a daughter, Ella Blue, who was born in 2000.

what a horrible thing for the family.....having witnessed 13 grand mal seizures i know the fear they experienced.....my heart goes out for them.....there but for the grace of God could have been my daughter....

Oh my, what a shame! He must have had a medical condition that was never revealed to the public. Such a young age, not having lived a full life, just awful.

On the other hand, I'd like to die in the Bahamas if I had a choice at an older age which would be better than having a heart attack at work or being run over by a bus or getting some grave disease that puts you in a nursing home and you just wither away, thats not good either.

That is so terrible, when I read he had such a serious seizure I couldn't understand what caused it but hitting his head in the bath tub makes sense. So sad for the family.

Very sad, for any parent. I am a big fan John Travolta and always have been, I really like that he always appeared to be a normal dad to his kids when doing interviews etc. and I don't remember reading a bad word publically about him, kelly or their parenting etc... and in this day and age with the paparazzi that is a miracle, this is a sad tragedy...
