I've seen a few individual posts, but not many. I'm just curious who tried and what the best books they read were? Maybe you read all 52 and none of them were worth reading. Then, some of you only read 12 and thought it was great!
I knew I couldn't read 52, but I read "Glass Castles," which is now in my top five of all time. I liked it so much, I'm hoping to get the college I work out to adopt it as our first "one community, one book" project. Another great one was one I read here on gather, "Water for Elephant." What a great book and what great book discussions that went along with it.
Does anyone plan to read 52 books in 2009? I would like to read 20, two a month with time off for vacation. I'd like to see some recommendations...

I easily read 2-3 books a months, depending on my mood.
By contrast, my sister read 1 book this year, "Marley and Me," which she finished today. She was upset at the end of the book because they have to put the dog down and that brought up all sorts of bad (and recent) memories, so she told me she wouldn't read anything this year.
She does read magazines and newspapers, but I think she is missing out on so much.
One of my favorites was Monkey Dancing
I did read Stephen King's series The Dark Tower...awesome read. There are seven novels in this series. I read all seven in less than 3weeks. Could not put them down!!!!
