My Walgreens response

I received a letter today from Walgreen's regarding the conair Hair dryer. Enclosed with the letter is a five dollar gift card and saying how sorry they were. They must have gotten so many complaints because in the letter it has my name and a Mrs Pollin.

I also had told them I got there at 8 am and they are saying when I got there at 6 am. My closest store opens at 8..right when I got there. Hmmmm. I would just love to know how many people complained! since they are mixing my complaint along with someone else's

Seems quite a few people on slickdeals said they complained. You are fortunate to get the gift card, though, as you're the first person that I have heard received one.

Hmm I have no idea what the complaint was for, but glad they sent a gift card. That's more than most companies will do.

It was nice of them to send you a giftcard to make up for their mistake. i use to never complain but now i have been expressing my feelings to company and it seems that most of the companies actually care about the customer's feelings.

Jennifer the complaint was on the hair dryers. I went in the second the store opened and they had none. When another woman had called the night before she was told that they had alot not to worry about the morning sale. There was some rumors that people hid the dryers so they could get the deal that day.

That would have made me angry too. I think that they did really good by you sending you a gift card. Congratulations.
I just got off the phone with my daughter and she wants me to go shopping with her so I think she wants to have some mommy time with me. Either that or she wants help with the groceries. LOL

It was interesting to read about the hairdryer dilema. I saw the add and happened to drive past my two local Walgreens on the way to work at about 7:55 and 8:00 am. Both stores open at 8. One store had one customer car in the lot and the other had none that I could see. I was tempted to stop for the "free" hairdryer" since I thought I could make a fast transaction, but I did not stop. Now I wonder if they even had any! It's good to hear the store is making it up to you in some way.

I went to 5 stores in my area and managed to get one. I only got it because one of the women that works there said she had just found four hair dryers on a different shelf that they didn't know they had. The employees at each of the stores said they sold out minutes after opening and only had a few on hand.

I was only the third person in the store..so technically according to this letter..they were supposed to have had 10...
