My mother inlaw suffers from alzheimers, among other condtions. She has lived with us for the past 4 years, and I take care of her. I feel her pain when she has a bad day, and on the good days when she realizes how she has declined. This is for her.
She used to be in control, always busy with too much to do.
Now she sits, and waits for someone, anyone, to call.
She used to do so many things, greeting everyone with a smile and a hug.
Now everyday is the same, and she can't remember anyones name.
She used to feel needed and wanted, important and loved.
Now she needs to feel it all again, but now for so many different reasons.
For so long she did for so many, and now we must do for her.
She used to be so strong and able, so sure and confident.
Now she needs our support and understanding.

I concur. You are very sweet and so kind to do this for your MIL. The sign of loving the man in her life. Awesome!
What I would like to know is, there has been advancements in such condition as Alzheimers, but why did it take one of our presidents to die with it before anything of substance was published and drugs to come out (that don't work well, but it is something)?
It can not be easy..... I hope you take care of yourself too?
