May you go out of your way at least once every few days for someone else....maybe even a stranger.
May you strive to improve your health....even if it's just one less cookie or a ten minute walk added to your daily routine.
May you practice what you preach....and practice it actively at least every other day.
May you stay in touch with friends and family....a phone call, an e-mail, a short visit.
May you reconnect with an old friend or estranged family member with a phone call, an e-mail or a letter.
May you say "thank you" at least once every day to someone.
In going out of your way to help someone you'll grow a kinder, bigger heart.
In improving your health you'll learn to love yourself more, and understand that you're well worth the time and effort.
In practicing what you preach you'll be viewed by others as honest and trustworthy, and they will seek your opinions and suggestions, thus allowing you to feel like you've made a difference.
By staying in touch with family and friends....if even only through e-mails....we connect with other human beings, and this is vital to our emotional and physical well being.....even better if we can visit now and then.
By reconnecting with someone we let go of old fears and hurts, and often recreate wonderful memories. At the very least we make new ones.
And by saying "thank you," we develop a true attitude of gratitude, which has been shown by medical doctors to actually add time to our lives here on earth.
These simple steps will make you and I better people, and will help spread some kindness in our world. They're painless, virtually cost free things that serve to enhance love, foster kindness, and boost morale.
I wish all these things....and more, for this New Year.
