Adam Sandler plays Skeeter Bronson, a hotel maintenance man who reluctantly accepts the task of babysitting his sister's kids for a few nights.
Skeeter becomes convinced that the children have the unlikely ability to significantly affect what happens to him during the day. He becomes eager to telling them a bedtime story each night, with the intent that the kids will make a desirable impact on his subsequent day - by making their own contributions to the tale. Albeit, their changes are not what he had in mind.
The movie does get a little silly in places, but in such a way as to amuse the youngsters in the audience. This, in conjunction with magical-fantasy nature of the combined Skeeter / kids stories makes for an entertaining family adventure.
The downside, from kids' movie perspective, is the plentiful shots of scantily dressed women. (Okay, this is an upside for others, but this movie is supposedly intended for a younger audience - so that might not be appropriate.)
Overall, the movie is no classic, but it's entertaining.
