A friend of mine just emailed this to me and I thought I would share it with you.
================================
In a few days, an African American man will move from his private
residence into a much larger and infinitely more expensive one owned not by him but by the taxpayers. A vast lawn, a fence and many security specialists will insulate him from the rest of us but the fact that this man will be residing in this house should make us all stop and count our blessings - it proves that we live in a nation where anything is possible.
Many believed this day would never come. Most hoped and prayed that
it would, few of us believed we would live to see it. Racism is an
ugly thing in all its forms, there is little doubt that if this man
had moved into this house fifteen years ago, there would have been a
great outcry - possibly even rioting in the streets. Today, we can be
grateful and proud that no such mayhem will take place when this man
takes up residency in this house.
This man, moving into this house at this time in our nation's history
is much more than a simple change of addresses for him - it is proof
of a change in our attitude as a nation. It is an amends of sorts -
the righting of a great wrong. It is a symbol of our growth, and of
our willingness to "judge a man, not by the color of his skin but by
the content of his character".
There is little doubt that the majority of us believe that this man
has earned both his place in history and his new address. His time in
this house will not be easy - it will be fraught with danger and he
will face many challenges. There will be many times when he asks
himself how he ended up here and like all who have gone before him,
the experience will age him greatly.
But I will not waste an ounce of worry for his sake - because in
every way a man can, he deserves this. His whole life for the past
fifteen years appears to have been inexorably leading this man toward
this house. It is probable that that in the past, despite all his
actions, racism would have kept this man out of this house. Today, I
give thanks that I am an American and live in a nation where wrongs
are righted, where justice matters and where truly anything is possible.
Who is this man?
Ready for the answer......................

A crafty notice here, but really, shouldn't we all look at ourselves a little more and wonder why freedom gives us the pleasure of such a rally that a man can be found guilty after aquital? Reading the innocence blog about the shameful justice of our nation may change your opinion in one sitting. Thank God you can't just stone a man.
We laugh because we think it can not happen to us ...The court of public opinion of course. We believe we are better so we joke about something that we are not 100% sure of. Even if we are,,,how did we become Judge and Jury? Good one but if you apply such craftyness to every Hero today ...you will see that Players like Tom Brady opperated on a cheating sytem, VP Dick shot his friend in the face, Bush declined a duel and instead started a war that cost more civilian deaths than you can imagine.Talk about a blood bath and the Glory of the rally there. We are American...Whoop de doo Some love to kill. These are the ones we most likely support instead of singling them out. These are the ones we truly fear...enough to joke about such fodder as what..who..and why one should be singled out as OJ so often is. 1 year ago..there were the amount of civilians killed in Iraq that Xd the amount of people killed on 911 50X's. Where is the Justice?
Oj was a great player and found a situation where a Jury does not matter other than to allow others to disagree. He only deserves what he has done and its consequences. We would all sleep better if we stuck to judging ourselves. Just an opinion. I still give it an 8.
I think Kato and All Cowlings set him up! So sorry to disagree with the rational of this intelectual piece. Should we all be so secure in Justice, then let all prisoners face the public instead of a jury. Where would our freedoms be then? Vigilance is a danger! That is why we have a sytem that allows an inocent man to be imprisoned, as well as allowing them to go free. We are so perfect that we damn ourselves to the morality of our own convictions. This can only happen in America!
It is better that we judge not, in order not to be false judges and be judged the same.
I thought this was hilarous. I didnt see this answer coming.
