Facebook, why did I want to join???

I cannot remember why I wanted to join facebook, lol!

I think there was another site that had perks or something if you had them as a fan but I can't remember what site it was!! whacky078.gif picture by stormy27

Well I did sign up but am having a hard time figuring it out. MySpace seems much easier to personalize.

 

Anyone on facebook? Have any tips?

I have both Facebook and Myspace, I prefer Myspace just a lot easier to navigate around than Facebook

I finally joined Facebook after resisting for 4 years. but its great I have caught up with old friends from primary school, high school and college.

I have a Myspace but not Facebook. Sorry I don't know much about it.But it also has more virus then myspace so therefor that is why I stick to Myspace. good luck =]

I signed up mostly to keep an eye on my kids posts, etc. I'm pretty sure that I've ruined their social lives by doing so, but I'm okay with that.

I am on both Facebook and Myspace and agree that myspace is much easier to navigate. I have friends and family on facebok though and hope that they can help me get it figured out.

p.s. I don't use MySpace with one notable exception: I go to the MySpace Karaoke thing, and I record embarrassing versions of all of the classic songs. Then I send them to my kids. They're especially "fond" of my Elvis renditions.

I am on Facebook, MySpace was too much. It takes some playing around and exploring, but once you get the hang of it's alright!

I use both... I like Myspace for the dorky stuff I do and Facebook seems to be the grownups Myspace, stay connected to long lost friends much easier on facebook..

I have both, but prefer myspace. i only go to facebook to keep up with my kids, lol. but it constantly freezes up on me and it's difficult to figure out.

A couple of friends convinced me a few weeks ago to try Facebook. I'm not impressed. I convinced one of them to try Gather. LOL

i'm on facebook, and my hubby is on myspace. we both look at the other's pages, so we keep up with everyone we want to that way. i prefer facebook, and he likes myspace better. i guess to each his own.

I don't have any tips but it is great to be able to use the bookmark thing here at gather with my facebook account. It is because of Gathers bookmarks that I joined facebook, my stuff here at gather now gets more views bewcause I bookmark it here and it is seen by people on facebook who are not gather members so my stuff gets more views hence more points for me.

I joined for coupons to use at CVS... LOL! Then I got a free clinique happy sample. There are a lot of HS classmates on there too! Always a plus!

I almost never check my Facebook anymore. I joined to keep up with my nursing school classmates, to see who passed their boards, where they got jobs, and all that. I'm on there maybe once a month now.

I don't get the attraction of Facebook either. Too hard to interact with people and there's only so many quizzes you can take before they get old. :-)

Facebook has fun applications..games like Scrabble, Word Challenge...etc.
That is the main reason I am on facebook...free games.

Facebook Scrabble is great, because you can take your time to decide your move. It also shuffles the letters, giving you unlimited views of various combinations.... very helpful for getting ideas for words.

There are some excellent Facebook writing groups with extremely informative threads. Less fooling around than on Gather, because there aren't any points.

If your kids are on there (mine are 25 and 28), you can also see what they're up to. Hey, sometimes we parents have to take what we can get.
