A woman by the name of Kathleen Hewko in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania is suing a bar for $150,000 after she fell into the toilet.
She claims that she was stuck in the bar’s bathroom stall for about 20 minutes after the handicapped accessible seat “cracked in half” sending her violently into the bowl. The lawsuit claims that she hurt her lower back in the incident. She is looking for compensation in her lawsuit from the bar for $150,000 along with Kohler, the maker of the toilet for another $150,000.
She was said to have told her attorney that one does not expect to fall into toilets and having toilet seats break upon one sitting upon them. Her husband is also included in the lawsuit. It seems that he is suing for being deprived of the society, consortium, companionship, services and assistance of his wife.” (He is trying to get $75,000 for the above stated)
If HewkoÂ’s husband gets $75,000 for 20 minutes of separation while his wife was lodged in the bathroom toilet beneath a broken toilet seat, it is foreseen that a trend of men will be requiring their wives and girlfriends to test the bathrooms of every establishment that they step foot in.
What do you think?
Would you sue if this happened to you?
