Tally 'em up!

So has anyone here tallied up what they spent this year on all of the festivities of the holidays, meaning gifts, Christmas meals, and holiday decor?

I shop all year round for gifts for people and I did keep some receipts, but not all of them.  I tallied up all of the receipts that I could find and it looks like we spent a little over $900 on everything.  The majority of this money was spent on gifts for people.  We have many friends and family that we buy for and I don't really think this is a lot of money considering that fact.  We also host Christmas dinner at our home and that tends to be atleast $200.  I don't think we did too badly this year!!

What's the damage to your checkbook??

Money spent on people other than my christmas angels.... $300.. Christmas Angels I spent around $320, Christmas dinner.. $25... so... $645.... couldn't pay some bills, couldn't get gifts for friends, send christmas cards or get hubby anything.... short on my rent for January and can't pay my internet until next month(it'll probably be shut off on the 1st, leaving me without a job.. since I have to have internet for my work). It's just great. The Christmas Angel money wasn't spent intentionally... we had a lot of donors back out. So yea, I'm still in my Bah Humbug phase.. I have a lot of going without to do still....

I don't know....I don't think I want to know....I do shopping all year around also, which does help. I know it cost me over $150 in shipping gifts to a bunch of different states, but that was still cheaper than a plane ticket.

we spend about 125 on all the gifts (lol, we bought 6 gifts all together) and 25 on the Christmas dinner, which Sarah provided because i won her contest!!! We really had to keep it low this year, with all the bad things that had happened to us. ops i forgot i bought a tree on clearance for 99bucks, we put that on our CC and will be paying this off as soon as we get our tax return

We spent less than 300 dollars for meal and presents. The money was just not there this year. But we did have a nice Christmas and a good meal.

I didn't buy anywhere near the amount of gifts I have in previous year just because my boyfriend and I had a party at our house for our work friends rather than exchanging presents with everyone. That alone saved a few hundred dollars. Not counting the gift wrap and such since I bought all of that at the end of last season, I spent just over $500 for presents for both my family and my boyfriend's family. Not bad, but I definitely shopped sales to get the best deal. Retail price for everything I go was probably 3 times that amount.

Not all that much, since I didn't actually celebrate. I just bought a few gifts, and that was pretty much it.

I probably spent about $500 start to finish...Given that my Christmas budget in the past has consisted of $50 - $100 I really enjoyed being able to give my family a nice Christmas with my online and offline earnings, though $100 of that was a returned gift that I used the cash to buy last minute gifts for hubby and daughter. I think my husband spent about $200 on Angela and I. I bought all the decor,wrap, wish gifts, and family gifts and it was fun! It also took the stress off of him and he really enjoyed the holidays :)

I don't even want to know! I'm guessing about $600 maybe. But I bought a wii this year. I worked 3 double shifts the week of Thanksgiving, including the holiday itself, so with that nice fat paycheck, I figured I could splurge on one big gift for the family.

We gave gifts to 20 people and probably only spent around $100. We did not do any meals at our home this year.

We don't spend "big" at Christmas time. Our boys are all grown up and really need little... just a few small gifts. Friends I gave Border or Home Depot cards I earned on Gather. For my sisters and all my Mom's grandchildren I gave framed pictures of my Mom (she died in August). Since I have some great photos....that's what I gave. Frames I bought at Marshall's....fairly inexpensive.

I probably don't want to know what we spent total. And we really don't even buy for that many people...

We shop all year long, too, and save all year long as well. So it didn't put us in a bind or anything. We save about half of what I make online from all the various sites that I do, and use that for gifts throughout the year, as well as a portion of what I was making when I was writing.

I would say all together we spent somewhere around $1000.

I didn't really keep a total, but I know that we're within our budget. So, it's all good.

way too much! And to add to it I paid for a new radiator in my grand prix and brakes on the surburban. Ugh! 600 for the vet bill I would say close to 3000 in expenses other than monthly bills which is killing me!

Don't know-but it seems like every time I think I'm done shopping, there is another one to buy. Every year I think I will start early for the next year. It's February-probably would be a good time to start.
