Music Sunday - links for you to enjoy

Good morning. Good afternoon. Good evening.

Today, being Sunday, near the end of the Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Eid season and approaching the New Year Holiday, I thought many of you might be simply exhausted, like I am.

Could think of absolutely nothing to write for today.

But I thought of some music to relax, lift, cheer, energize you.

Some links on YouTube for you to enjoy:

Vivaldi: The Four Seasons: Winter - This lovely string concerto features some very handsome Italian violinists and cellists/bassists in the middle of some Italian square.


Vangelis: Hymn (heard on TV in the 1980s as a wine commercial but similar to the famous Chariots of Fire Theme.  Beautiful scenic visuals, too.


The Standells:Love that dirty water - Boston, you're my home

Even though the Standells were from California, this song is still played after every home victory won by the Red Sox, Celtics and the Bruins.

 

Procol Harum: Whiter Shade of Pale - Live

In 2004, Rolling Stone named this song #57 of the top 500 songs, and it is joint winner with Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody of the best British pop single (1952-1977), and though heavily influenced by Bach's "Air on a G String", this song does not copy or paraphrase any musicality from Bach.

Some classical, some nouveau classical - new age, some traditional rock, and perhaps some folk or other....

I checked out these links... And, Kathryn that song, Dirty water, that video is quite funny. You can tell the drummer is lip syncing and not doing it very well.

thanks, Kathryn! This reminds of playing in the orchestra for the holiday season.

I've played the violin for 26 years now. I worked hard to make it to the first seat. I always felt first violin gets the really great hi-notes :0
