I'm not sure whether to call this night or morning. It's about 2:30 am Christmas Eve morning. I was sleeping earlier, but I got up for a little while and am Gathering a little trying to creep my point total up a tiny bit. My brother is having Christmas Eve sometime today, and I'll do Christmas with just my kids on Christmas Day. I'm making spaghetti. Everyone loves spaghetti.
Soon, I will go back to sleep. When I wake up again I will venture to the store one more time. The cat is out of food. I made her an egg, but she is not eating it. I'll make some cookies and hot cocoa mix to share.
It'll be a busy day. I should try to write an article or two also for eHow. I'm still not quite at that $10 threshold I need to get to by the 30th. I'm a little burnt out, and I miss my in progress novel. But the thing about eHow is that even though the money really trickles in at first, you can keep earning something on the articles even if your writing slows down. So once my arsenal is built I'll be doing that, because I really do need to get a better balance with my more literary work.
I need to set up some kind of serious workshop situation. As I did with No Sensible People, I alternate point of view, but not as constantly. (NSP changes POV each chapter) The narrators are a young married couple Molly and Nate (Jennie from No Sensible People's parents - Jennie is a toddler at this point, she's 9 1/2 in NSP). For nearly a hundred pages I kept Molly's voice, but I have switched to Nate's. I estimate I'll have about 20 pages to go before it's Molly's turn again, and I'll do some more editing when I get to that point. I am anxious to get back to Molly. She asked to talk, Nate needed more coaxing.
But now it's close to 3, so I should try to catch whatever night I can before I am forced to call it morning. 5 days off of the day job. Thank Goodness.
Merry Christmas
