I have a question about getting Gift Cards for Gather Points - I want to get a movie from Amazon

I just got this Film Noir film called Blackout from NetFlix (trial membership) which I really loved. It stars Dane Clark, who was more of a character actor in american movies.  It is actually one of the ones you can play on your computer if you have a membership.  I can only get it through the Hammer Film Noir Collector's Set (Yep the same people who made all the vampire movies in the 1960's) which is $26.99.  I have gotten PayPal payments for Gather points but it doesn't look like Amazon takes PayPal. Does anyone know if they do? I am wondering if you request a Amazon GC for your Gather points do they send you an actual card or e-mail you a code? I would really appreciate any help anyone can give. On the paypal site there is a link that will take you to the list of sites that take paypal. They do send you an actual gift card if you order one from gather. I have recieved two of them. happy holidays

No Amazon doesn't take paypal, and sadly Gather snail mails you, the gift card.

Took two weeks for my amazon card to get here, the last time I ordered it. They could save so much time and money if they'd just e-mail you the thing, like a lot of other sites do. But, whatever is easier for them I guess.

You can transfer the money directly from PayPal to your bank account and then use it to buy from Amazon.

No amazon doesn't take paypal.

When you redeem for an amazon gc here at gather, you get a physical card with the code on it.

Sounds like it would be quickest for you to use PayPal, transfer the money directly to your bank account, and choose "payment from your bank account" on Amazon.

You can also transfer the funds and use bill me later. I used them and I've had pretty good success with them.

Chana, I found this DVD set for $19.93 at www.deepdiscount.com. They always offer free shipping with no minimum purchase price. I ordered from them after I saw their advertisement in the NYTimes, and they often have the best prices.

Thanks everyone! Last time I tried to use my PayPal (I got $100.00 from Gather and kept $20.00 for just me) I couldn't figure out if they took it or not. Luckily after my free Amazon GC I got from a survey I had enough in my checking account to cover the little bit left that I owed. Now I have to see if I have enough to do a PayPal transfer because I really want this movie.

My answer does not answer your question, but I use my local public library near my work to deliver me almost any movie I want to watch. The library notifies me when nthe movie comes in. I can pick it up and watch it for a week (with extentions) for free.
Chana, 3 times now I've recieved $50 Amazon Gift cards, and yes they send an actual card, plus it has the code on it, and they have a record of who the card was sent to, so buying online from them is a breeze--I have bought quite a few Blu-Ray movies with the gift cards, and got the movies very quickly. Since I paid for "Amazon Prime" when I was buying from them last year, I already qualified for 'free' 2-day shipping, so everything I've bought with the Gather gift cards I've recieved within 2-3 days.
