Update on Angela

Well, after spending all morning at the urgent care to get her foot x-rayed, we don't have any answers. The doctor couldn't tell if it's broken or not. The x-rays were sent to the hospital to be read by a specialist, but no one has gotten back to us yet. Angela's foot is wrapped up and put in a boot. Of coarse she still can't put any weight on it, so she's got crutches too. If it's not better by Christmas Day, I'm suppose to call the orthopedic...(which is closed until the 27th). I may just call tomorrow and make an appt. anyway. I'm sure she's going to need it. If the foot isn't broken, then she's torn a tendon, which will be much worse.

Gee Flit...Angela knows just how you feel now....

It might be worth it to make the appt tomorrow, than to try and do it the day they re-open. You can always cancel it later. I hope it's nothing too bad!

I think I'd call tomorrow if I were you. Poor baby girl. I feel so bad for her. Here it is her Christmas vacation and she's going to be in a cast and in pain the whole time. I hope it's nothing but a sprain. Geez. Keep us posted.

also for what it is worth, i tripped once and went to the head ortho dr in the local hospital
and he said it was a sprain, (sprains hurt more then breaks) and after 2 weeks of not being able to walk on it, he more or less said I was looking for attention. I went to a regular ortho dr. He took a xray and saw a bone chip where it would cause pain and because I waited so long I ended up wearing a cast from boot to knee for 8 weeks and then a solf cast
Maybe get a 2nd apt.

sometimes there is so much swelling there that it will show no break. it's not until a week or so later that it will show up. hope she is ok

I know what you are going through. DH has a problem with his knee and has been on crutches for over a week now while the insurance company and doctors fight about who is going to pay for the MRI. What happened to good old fashion patient care? I hope she isn't in pain and that you find out soon.

I do agree that you would be better off making an appointment. I am so sorry you are having such a hard time. Man the saying "When it rains, it pours" is true.

I too would make the appointment & then if you don't need it, it can be cancelled.

I hope it's feeling a bit better now that it's in the boot

I'm waiting impatiently for tomorrow ... jess has a lump on her neck ... thought it was just a swollen gland but it keeps getting bigger and more painful, and meds haven't seemed to slow it down any. She's supposed to go in again about tomorrow if it's not better... not showing any signs of improvement yet, so will go in right after work, and hopefully get some answers.

it SO sucks being this far away and not able to take her in myself. I know she's all growed up ...but I still would rather be there.

I hate waiting for answers. It seems like the most frustrating part of any accident or illness. I hope her recovery goes well, regardless of what the dr's finally decide.

I think I'd call tomorrow.....at least get an appointment made...then, if need be, you can always cancel....what a bummer, to be in pain over the Christmas holiday......hope that she'll recover quickly.
