We usually get a few inches of snow a year here in the great Northwest, and it is usually gone within a couple of days, but this years things have been different. I think we have about ten inches of snow now, with a 1" layer of ice under the top couple of inches. It has been great for sledding (we don't get to do that very often here), but is too powdery for snowballs and snowmen, AND it is keeping everyone from getting around. We did manage to get to church yesterday (along with just a handful of other people), but today the roads are less driveable. We have had to cancel my husband's birthday party tomorrow, and are looking at having to reschedule our family Christmas get-together. Hopefully it wil warm up a little and we can go ahead with Christmas as usual!

my son may not be able to make it down from Seattle unless conditions change for the better early Dec. 24....
love the birdbath shot and have one i haven't posted which looks very similar.....we have had daily snow since a week ago Sat. with only a partial melt due to icy rain one day....guess you heard by now that another system is coming in followed by Wintry mix of rain/snow after Christmas day....
love to shoot and play a bit in it,but hate to be stuck at home not being able to drive on the icy hwy.....
have a cool yule!.....cheers,gayle
It has been an odd couple of winters for sure. We are still like last year bouncing back and forth from warm to cold.
