Anyone still go to Movies?

There's 3 big movies opening on Christmas day 2008 in the theaters with "Seven Pounds" (Will Smith), "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" (Brad Pitt), and "The Spirit" (Eva Mendes, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L Jackson). The three movies look to be very competitive with interestings casts and stories to them.

This got me wondering how many people pay to go see movies in the theater on Christmas day? Anyone here have this as a tradition, or planning to see the 3 movies mentioned above?

For that matter, how many people still pay to go see the movies in theaters? It's pretty costly these days unless you see a matinee...

I have gone to the movie on Christmas Day if it was a movie I really wanted to see. We don't go as often these days due to the cost, though...and when we go we choose the matinee when the prices are lower.

We never go to the movies even though Matt gets free tickets every year from work.

Yep, my family is first going out to eat at our favorite truckstop on Christmas Day and then we're heading to the theatre.....won't see any of the movies listed but rather one with Tom Cruise in it.....a story about an attempt to kill Hitler! Our son really, really wants to see it, so we're planning to. At least that is a very different way of spending Christmas Day....LOL!

I have never gone to a movie on Christmas day. My mom used to be married to a guy, and it was there tradition, (him and his kids) to go to the movies on Christmas.

We generally get to see most of the movies we go to for free...I do tons of refunding as a hobby, and am able to get LOTS of free movie tickets!!!!

I do want to see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button & Seven Pounds, but I probably won't go see them on Christmas. Seeing movies on Christmas has never really been a tradition for us. I do still pay to go see movies, but only ones I feel are worth paying money to see. I also would like to see Marley & Me & Yes Man. Those two look pretty funny.

I haven't been to the movies on Christmas Day since high school! These days we just wait for them to come out on DVD and buy it. Cheaper for our family and our DVD collection has gotten quite extensive!

I don't go to the movies that often but I'm making an exception this coming weekend to go watch Marley and Me with my brother.

I'll be watching for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button on DVD because it looks very interesting.

i have never went to the movies on christmas day. I think going to the movies is way to expensive these days
I love the movies, Don hates to go! So Kyle usually goes with me which is great because we have mommie son time!! He can't see this so I can still say Mommie even though he will be 14 in 9 days!! Boo hoo!! LOL!! We like the scary stuff, but I do wanna see & pounds-love Will Smith!!

I usually go if I get a gift card or gift pass. I have a really hard time sitting through an entire movie without using the restroom and I end up missing part of the movie. :( So, I rather watch it at home on a DVD.

But, as a kid, we always went to the movies on Christmas or around that time.

We only get to go about once a year, and that's only with free passes if I can get them. Between getting a sitter and not being able to rewind, lol, I would rather be at home. :)

I didn't start gong to movies on Christmas until I moved to Georgia. But I've gone many times on both Christmas and Thanksgiving since. I plan to see benjamin Button on Christmas in fact.

A Christmas Day movie has been a tradition for years- I'm looking forward to it, but haven't decided which one to go see yet.

I go to the movies all the time. Not really excited about any of those Christmas movies though
If the weather doesn't suck, we got to the movies. If we go this year, we'll probably see The Spirit.

I do not go to the movies on Christmas Day and rarely go the rest of the year. If you wait a few months it is only a couple of dollars to rent.

Thanks for the comments folks...I plan to see all 3 of the above movies at some point. After seeing Sin City, at first I didn't like it, then it grows on me everytime I watch it..so The Spirit looks entertaining!

Nora, thanks for reminding me..can't believe I forgot the Tom Cruise movie, it's sure to compete with those as well..hope you enjoy it!

Yes i still go see movies however its not as much as it used to be and its usually for movies i am looking forward to seeing.I did not go see a movie on christmas since i usually don't but the cost of presents left me broke lol i pretty much just stayed with the family that day enjoying each others company.Hope everyone enjoyed their holidays!

I dont usually go to the movies on Christmas. I may see Benjamin Button but the others i will wait for them to come out on video.
