I Am So Sad :'o(

I was so lucky to get time off this year to visit my family.  We have always gone to my husband's parent's for Christmas, & this was the 1st year we were going to go to my parent's.  To get to the point of the story Spokane, WA has had massive snow fall & the roads to get there are treacherous.  :'o(  It looks like we have to spend another year here, and I HAVE to get out!  We used to travel all the time before we had kids, but not so much since.  I go crazy if I can't get out of the town.  I wish we could afford to fly, but since we just found out we don't have the advanced notice to get cheaper flights.  What is sad is this flight is only an hour & it costs so much!  UGH!  Anyone have any ideas of what we should do?  Should we risk the drive?  Should we hit my parent's up for $1000?  I just want to do something new this year...not the same old same old....
