We finally got a good snow storm, and just a couple of days before the Winter Solstice. Timing is everything! I went for a walk to see the sights in my spiritual home in Ballard Park and Gooseneck Cove. On the way down I couldn't help but catch this shot of a snow-covered wreath on Spring St.:
Ballard Park:
The snow was very heavy, and this was both good and bad. Good in that it turned the forest into a kingdom of white lace. Bad in that bent branches and smaller trees way over and made some of the trails impassable. But oh, what a Winter wonderland the park was today!

Hazard Rd. and Gooseneck Cove:
Snow changes Hazard Rd. completely, and Gooseneck Cove becomes a new place we've never been before.

Touro Park:
On the way home I decided I just had to stop by Touro Park on Bellevue Ave. and catch it in the snow. The old Stone Tower looks handsome, and poor Commodore Matthew Perry seems to have a new winter coat that he didn't ask for.

And that's our walk for today. It's time for soup, sandwich, and a chai masala. Merry Christmas, Joyous Solstice, Glad Yule to all!

Oooh! Pretty! I particularly love the snowy berries and the stone tower thingy.
Now, on the Gooseneck Cove pictures, do you have any that show us what it looks like when it's not snow covered? I'd be interested in that.
Gorgeous, Roy! I loved this.
Unlike Joy, I like snow. I just don't like that it has to be cold at the same time...
Great shots, Roy.
Joy, all you have to do is look at my photo essays and my individual photos from further back in the year and you'll see LOTS of shots of Gooseneck Cove in all seasons and under all sorts of conditions. Believe me, I have the Cove and Ballard Park well documented on Gather. LOL!!!
Happy Solstice, Roy.
I wish you a Blessed Solstice!
Here in beautiful New Brunswick, Canada, it is 20 below zero this morning. You've never seen a dog move in and out as fast as Pennypepper did a few minutes ago. the cats have better sense. They just opened one eye and went back to sleep. Tonight we are to get 10 inches of snow, so I guess that means the temperature will warm up a bit.
Vicky, believe it or not that's the very shot I have as my desktop picture.
U wishing you a bright Solstice
Back atcha with interest, Jules!
Thanks Ina! No, these all pretty much live on a hard drive.
They are yummy.
Merry Solstice.
Blessed be.
