I had a wonderful time in Grand Bahamas. We were at Freeport, and stayed at Viva Wyndham Resort. It is an all-inclusive resort. I recommend an all-inclusive place if you truly want to relax & not worry about anything.
On the other hand, an all-inclusive resort is not going to show you how the people of the country/island live. So it is a bit deceptive.
Here is a sampling of some of the pictures I took while there~
Viva Wyndham Resort~

The entire entrance of the Viva Wyndham

Decorations at the entrance to the lobby~

The lobby. They gave you a Bahama Mama as you were checking in - virgin or not.

The huge tree in the lobby~

A picture of my room & one of my virgin drinks~

Me in my room~

Palms were everywhere - I loved them!

Bougainvilla I believe.

The Caribbean Ocean! I did walk in it - all along the shore for a nice walk by myself while my traveler was taking a nap.

The swimming pool. It was a bit too chilly to go swimming while we were there. I never even got to have my swimsuit on. They had a hot-tub as well.

All these bikes were available for anyone that wanted to go for a bike ride!

Dance lessons were offered everyday. I think this day was salsa lessons.

The bar - free drinks ALL the time. I stuck with virgin drinks~

Inside the bar/lounge area - plenty of places to relax. The had pool & foosball way down at the end to the right.

Outside of the bar/lounge area. Can you see the life size chess game on the ground there? They also has ping-pong nearby

The ocean from aboard the Discovery ship we took from Florida to Grand Bahamas
The Bahamas was my favorite part of the entire trip. While my traveler was napping or sleeping (she went to bed early), I was able to have some time to myself. I really cherished that time as working so much does tire a person out.
For those that don't know. I work for a company that takes adults with developmental disabilities on vacations. I was a 1to1 on this trip. I took care of 1 lady & she was my responsibility.
I got another stamp in my passport now too!
I'll have some more photos I will be sharing & essays as well~

It looks like a wonderful place Priscilla. Were there many people there, or did you have it all to yourself?
It was cloudy a lot & for sure the pool was too chilly to swim, the ocean was mild.
I'm heading home tomorrow for Christmas. I don't know how much time I'll get online. I'll talk to you when I get back.
I love the lobby's Christmas tree.

My aunt took my Mom to the Bahamas a few years ago. I will never be able to go there. I am glad you were able to. Looks so relaxing.
And I love seeing how the natives live and eating the truly authentic regional cuisines.
You must love your job!
I've been to the Bahamas and yes, it can be chilly in the winter. (It's all relative.) :-)
God bless you...

That means you would be able to go on a trip for free. You would not be paid anything, and you would have to take care of a few people, but it would be free!
