should current same sex marriages be null and void?

While same sex marriages were allowed, and proposition 8 took its toll on the legality question to change the law, now people are advocating that those marriages shouldÂ voided.

I have very mixed feelings about this, these marriages were once legal now illegal, does that mean that the marriages performed wehn 'legal'Â be null and void?

I honestly can't say what I think of this, but I do wonder what y'all think about this.

Some of my best friends have been homosexuals, while i don't partake in that lifestyle, I feel that is a person's choice if they choose to do so.Â I just wish everyone could get along....

I was wondering if there was such a way, I have no problem with the marriages being recognized because they were legal, but you have to know that there are those that will try to strike it down any way they can.

I am sorry Mooch, I dont see why they should be allowed to marry as a man and woman.. I think a civil union for them is good enough.. They should get the same benefits though that a married person should have...I would think this should appease all concerned....

Separate but equal didn't work for blacks in the early 1900s and it won't work for gay couples now. The fact is domestic partnership or civil union are not the same as a legal marriage (notice I didn't say religious marriage because that should be up to the specific religion or church). Legal marriage is just a contract between two people, any two people of legal age should be allowed to be married if they choose.
