Today, I mixed up a large batch of bath salts and filled 13 clean, empty mayonnaise jars. Some will be given as gifts, others are mine to enjoy. All ingredients can be purchased at Walmart, Dollar Tree or a grocery store. Nothing unusual, expensive or exotic here.

After mixing the ingredients (recipe below) I applied labels printed on my home printer. I cut squares of sprigged fabric, glued them to the lids and tied ribbon around the neck of the jar.

Templates for labels are available at many sites including HP Printables, Avery Labels and more. Please feel free to copy and use these:

I snagged a dozen of these satin gift boxes with sequins and bows at Bath & Bodyworks Outlet Store. Only $1 each, and they look so elegant and festive.

I added three Tea light candles to each gift box for candle light baths.

Stick a gift tag on the box and it's ready for giving! I love lavender, but any scent of essential oil may be used or the salts can be unscented, if you prefer.
Bath Salts are a wonderful addition to a gift basket. They make great party favors or girlfriend gifts. They are big sellers at craft bazaars and on ebay.
Lavender Bath Salts - Recipe
Ingredients
· Epsom Salts - 3 bags
· Sea Salt - 2 rounds
· Baking Soda - box
· Lavender Essential Oil, or essential oil scent of your choice
· Clean Jars with Lid - I used Mayonnaise jars
· Red and Blue Food Coloring, if desired.
1. Pour 6 drops of essential oil into each jar. Roll jars
around to coat sides.
2. Combine 3 bags Epsom Salts, 3 cups Sea Salt, 1 box
Baking Soda. I mixed this in a large pour and store
container.
3. Measure 1 ½ cups Epsom Salts, 1/3 cup Sea Salt, ¼
cup Baking Soda into each jar.
4. Put all ingredients in jar and close the lid tightly.
Shake to mix.
4. Make labels, if desired. See photo.
6. Make fabric covers, if desired. I bought lavender
sprigged calico and tied each jar with purple ribbon.
7. For gift-giving, a gift box or basket is nice.
8. Pour your bath. Add 1/3 cup (or more) of the
prepared salts to bath water. Stir slightly to help the
bath salts dissolve. Light some scented candles and
pop a romantic CD in the player. Relax and enjoy!
