Teaching my kids to be healthy and active is SO important!

As a mom, I think it's very important that I teach my kids from a very young age to be active and healthy! I've struggled in the past and I know just hoe important that type of lifestyle is! By teaching my kids as a young age, I think it will just be a part of who they are and what they do. So much that I hope they won't even have to really think about it and they will just automatically do it.

I love walking and have a route all mapped out! I walk 3x a week outside, weather permitting of course. It's a release for me to just relax and let all my worries float away.

When I can't walk outside, I have an elliptical machine. It's not as fun and the scenery isn't as nice but it does the trick and keeps me going!

I also have two kids that keep me very busy. Always wanting to play this or play that! "Catch Me Mommy" or "Find Me Mommy" is something I hear on a regular basis.  Playing is not only fun but it's a great way to exercise as well.

My kids are very active as well! My son plays soccer, is a wrestler and takes swim lessons. My daughter plays soccer, goes to dance class and takes swim lessons.

I've never been a fan of giving kids lots sweets and junk food (they get it but it's not a daily item). My kids rarely get candy, juice or soda pop. If we are somewhere and the kids are offered soda pop, 9 times out of 10, they nicely decline and ask for water or milk instead! That makes me very proud!  My kids are almost 5 and 8 and 'IF' they get juice, I still water it down half juice and half water! LOL!
