Have you looked at a magazine cover lately? They all promise quick results for everything from wrinkles to weight loss. I must admit that all I can do is think "If It Were That Easy We Would All Do It!". I just do not believe them anymore and the same goes for TV and Radio commercials. THEY ALL LIE! I am serious. I was talking to my husband the other night and said "I wish they would bring back Mr Wipple or Mr Wibble whatever his name was. LOL You know the Charmin squeezing store owner. I also wish they would bring back the "Oh I wish I was an Oscar Myer wiener. That is what I'd truly like to be. Cause if I was an Oscar Myer wiener, everyone would be in love with me" Do you remember those commercials?
I trusted those commercials. They made me remember the product and want it. The commercials today leave me wondering what they were advertising.
The magazines promise that if you purchase and read the magazine, you too will be able to lose weight, make wrinkles go away and cure whatever is wrong with your marriage. I mean really if it were that easy we would have a perfect world already. I am just so aggravated at the way ads have been deceiving us in today's world. Whatever happened to integrity?

Hey, your package should arrive tomorrow or Friday.
The older ads are charming, I will admit that. However, the sense of integrity was illusory.
I loved those commercials.
I usually don't belive 1/2 of what I read in magazines.
I love some of the old comercials. Do you remember.... N-E-S-T-L-E-S Nestles makes the very best...choooocolate (with Farfal the dog)? Or Choo-choo Charlie and Good N Pleanty?
I wish it was easy.
What bugs me it the pharmaceutical companies with their "direct to consumer advertising". "Ask you doctor if Procrit is right for you." Give me a break! If you're on chemotherapy and your red cell count drops too low, your medical oncologist will treat it appropriately which may or may not involve the use of Procrit. What sense does it make for that company to pay exorbitant amounts of money advertising in on TV? Also, by law if the advertisement indicates what the medication is used for, they must list possible side effects OUT OF CONTEXT. So a patient might refuse to take or stop taking a medication because of what they see in a TV add without understanding.
It's not hard to get me started on this topic!
I hate the Victoria Secret Commercials with a passion. I actually TURN the satellite off when they come on. I want them to know I do not approve. I have also written the Victoria Secret company. I am one who uses action and not just words. LOL
I know just what you mean. It is just not right and I do not see how it can be legal when you have to have a prescription to get it.
I also dislike those info commericals that swear their products are so much better than any6one elses and pay out rageous prices for them.
