I live just West of Minneapolis but right now I am in Northern Wisconsin and it's very windy and the snow has started. We are forecasted to get somewhere between 4 and 20 inches b y noon tomorrow. Right now the temp is hovering around 30 but it is to be below zero in the morning.

I could hardly believe it when i looked out the window and saw rain! I fear the same thing-- glare ice under the snow. (I have to remind my son to salt my mother's sidewalks)

Looks dreary. I've always maintained that the only thing worse than snow is dirty snow, and you're going to have lots of dirty snow before it disappears from the rain. Yuck!

Heck, the glaciers underfoot could last until April. In the woods, they are still receding in May (according to Garrison Keeler).

They were predicting the snow for us too, but it missed us. I'm a little disapointed photography-wise, but the Christmas shopper in me is relieved. :)

Ugh! I got excited when they said it would reach 50 degrees here today, but then they added the high wind warning. Probably not a good day for me to be out hiking. Maybe I could take an umbrella and fly around like Mary Poppins.

Okay, I'm strange, I love days like what you're having. The darker and drearier the better. We haven't had any snow here yet although the other day it got down to 20 degrees. Tomorrow it will be 60. I can sit by the window and watch it snow all day long, I just don't like to walk in it but I do like it when it snows.

I hate ice, with a passion. I have a horrible fear of falling and would rather walk through snow up to my knees (securely) than walk on a thin layer of ice!
