Gather Cash Program Is Going Away

I got an email from Gather, saying that the cash program is going away and everyone will be on the Points program now.  I don't really have a preference either way. I just hope the points to cash ratio will remain the same. I think this is a good move anyway. It's more efficient to keep everyone on the same rewards system.

I think its a good idea for them to do it this way, they still offer paypal so it is still getting cash. I dont know how the dash option worked I have points and I do ok with them.

Okay. What's a cash program? I'm just now figuring out that you can get shopping cards for your points.

it's not the whole cash program, people can still get paypal cash out, on the same page as the gift cards, they are doing away with the cash option where people were only on that, and not on the points at all. you also won't be able to get cash in check form after the end of this month.

it takes me a year just to get one gift card anyway. Since the only way to get points is to have someone comment on your posts... and no one comments much on my posts so I don't care one way or the other.
The decision to do away with the cash program was made a few months ago. The point to dollar ratio is the same whether you are on points or cash.

I received the email too as I have been on the cash option for over a year. It is disappointing as we had to earn our way into the program and we could cash out for any amount or request checks which under the new system will now be unavaiable to us. I know I have to roll with it but I am very disppointed with this after all it was a lot of hard work to earn the cash option that now anybody can get!!! BOOO HOOO!!!

IT may be more efficient for them but there are many members on the cash option that do not like Pay PAl and have received checks for years. And it is going to be very hard on them.

I've never been on the cash option, so it wouldn't affect me at all. Paypal is pretty much just like getting cash for me too.

I like the change because it will give me some more options. I don't get hung up on the whole "I worked to get on the cash program" thing. This means that I can cash out for paypal for me or get a card for an upcoming gift. Cool beans!

I don't think anyone really knows how you get points here. My opinion is that it probably changes frequently, to keep us guessing and to keep us doing a variety of activities here. But I could be wrong!

I only tried asking for a check once, and it took way too long. I like paypal, but it will be nice to have a choice between that and gift cards.

I'm just glad they kept the paypal option for all of us...it makes it easier to justify the overhead for redemption. Gift cards work great at times -- paypal works for the others.
