We took Red to the vet yesterday and she agreed it was time to let Red go. His condition had rapidly deteriorated in just a couple of days. His uric acid level was so high it made blisters in his mouth that was why it was hurting him when he drank his water.
He was so weak that the sedative was almost strong enough to send him to the bridge. Only a small amount of the other drug was needed. I held him the whole time.
I am not sure of how old he was but figure he was at least 13 years old.
He was such a sweet kitty. I hated that he had to suffer for even a short period of time.
Now he can rest free of pain.

Red has gone to The Bridge!
Well Diane you did pay the good-word tribute !!
Thanks blessed one !!!
Time heals, I still miss my baby and cry for him. But I know I will see him again when it's my time.
Keep Red in your heart and always keep a photo of him handy. He will be with you always.
Hugs to you and yours.
Hugs to you!
My heart goes out to you.
Its hard but it was the right choice.
My condolences to you. This is the one area where I am weak, and I simply cannot take it. It's also why I never got another kitty cat after my own Little Tiger; it is just too, too, too, too much for the heart to bear, so I do sympathize with you.
The passing of this grief shall take a good deal of time; I know. Oh, how I do know. Just be good to yourself, and remind yourself that you did all that you were able to do for your little Red. That, and remembering all of the good times shall get you through this.
Hugs to you.
Many hugs and blessings to you.
