La Primavera by Botticelli on behalf of the erudite brother of the ruling Medici, using also part of a choreography made by the ruling Medici.
It is a mysterious work, but the more you look at it, the more you read the right books, and as the years pass, the more you gain clarity and certainty over it.
Here, just a little detail:
The three graces, but perhaps they are the three goddesses, Virginal, non decorated Athena (Minerva), Erotic and prosperous Aphrodite (Venus) and Mother earth, irritated hous wife, Hera. What would their choreographic pose wanted to say?
A lot in this painting signifies 'below as above' The whole work signifies the Great Alchemical work, the work of our transformation.
A litlle detail in the choreography of the three ladies: The hand of Athena joining with the hand of Hera, in a way that their fingers cross eachother forming a square ... a cabalistic symbol, a massonic symbol ...
The level is the middle - not above, not below ... and it is at the height of the heart of Athena - the knowledge of the Heart?
There is so much more in this trio and in every figure but another time again.
Here it is another of my little gifts to you; I am only the messanger really...

As I think I told you, my wife Inma and I were in Firenze and Bologna last summer for almost a week, visiting my mother who took a two month Italian course there at the Leonardo Da Vinci Language Institute.
It was our second trip there; I wish I´d had your supreme artistic, Rosicrucian and alchemical hermetic knowledge to guide us in our understanding of so much of what we saw. (Although I was a history major in college who did his thesis work on the system of art patronage in the Renaissance, focusing on Henry VIII, Francis I and Charles V, I had no idea thirty years ago about much of the ´secret knowledge´which you describe with such fluency and aplomb!)
Again, thank you for writing me as well as continuing to grace the pages of Gather with your incredible art and hermeneutic lore. You are a treasure trove, a good friend, an amazing artist and a sweetheart!
John, we all have someone that give us some clue and invite us to look more carefully and questione ourselfs about what we are looking at ...
