When life give you lemons...

My friend did not have a Thanksgiving.  Her and her husband are going through difficult times.  You may have read in another post that he left to "find himself".  He originally invited her to attend his family's Thanksgiving, but then uninvited her.  Instead he picked up the children, and left her home alone on Thanksgiving.  Her family is in Indiana, so she could not spend it with them.  I invited her to spend the day with me and my family, but she declined. 

I got a 20 pound turkey before Thanksgiving at a ridiculous price.  I proposed that we make  our own Thanksgiving with the turkey and all the trimmings.  Tomorrow two single moms are getting together with all the children to have a Thanksgiving.   It seems to have lifted her spirits.  She is busy making pies today.  When life hands you lemons, make lemonade.

I find when things like this happensto me, I throw a party! When life hands me lemons...I slice them up and use them as garnishes for cocktails.

You are such a good friend. I need more people like you in my life! I am glad she has you! I've had to spend thanksgiving alone before and its horrible.

I always had to go to Thanksgiving family celebrations without my son; he would be spending it with my ex-husband. I didn't feel much like celebrating...until the last few years, holidays have been a misery for the last 16 years.

Good for you! Her pain and her husband's meanness sadden me. Makes me wonder about his family that they'd consent to her being neglected on Thanksgiving.
