Moondance Alexander movie is a Michael Damian film is inspired by a true story, about a girl (Kay Panabaker) who has had a rough school year, and is friendless until she is riding her bike down the road and stumbles upon a lost pinto horse pony/ Checkers who will change her summer from thinking it will be dull to a wonderful experience she will never forget Always keen to do the right thing, Moondance returns the pony to its rightful owner and convinces the horse's owner (Don Johnson) to train her and the horse for a prestigious show-jumping competition
she also struggles a little bit with her fathers death which they didnt really describe what happened and her being ok with her mom dating another man ,this story is very T.V ish, however is great for the family ,, I loved this movie one reason because I love horses, and 2 its a simple movie that will have you in tears one moment and very happy the next and make you feel like your right there with Moondance as she goes through her ups and downs of her summer family dealings trying to fit in and criticism of her nemesis, Fiona (Sahsa Cohen) who she goes to school with, man that girl is one awful spoiled rotten child ,makes you want to slap that child silly how rude and cruel she is to Moondance but Moondance shows her that with presaverence and hard work she can prove her wrong about her horse..
I give this 5 stars for sure, yes it does kinda have a bit of a predictable story line, but I think a great one at that ,this is a great movie to watch with your children for a family night type thing.

Paying it forward for 1/2009
I think my daughter might like this
We do not view anything above a PG13 rating in our home so that is the first thing I look for in a movie.
