A crane bird in my creek.

This crane likes sitting in the middle of the creek that runs though my yard.  He is so pretty.  I think I have some photos here that I will enlarge and frame to put in my living room.  Will make a nice conversation photo.

 

He looks so cold sitting here.  He is waiting for the fish to swim upstream.

Those are such great photos! We have a crane that hangs out on our lake but generally he's so far away we can barely make him out. Kudos for the excellent pictures!

A heron has a curved neck like a snake. The crane like the bird in the photo has more of a straight neck. I checked before I listed his type.

Oh and I saw him in flight and his neck was out...

Herons fly with folded necks, distinguishing them from cranes, which fly with their necks extended.

Great pics, thanks for sharing these! You brought back happy memories of a crane coming to visit at my first house - it was on a pond and I used to feed the ducks so when I woke up they'd gather around my backdoor. One day the crane arrived but stayed much more distant - such a beautiful bird.

Image too big? Even MS Paint has a way to change an image size. (In Paint, use Ctrl+W.)
My preference is to create a duplicate of the original image first, before making any changes. That prevents accidentally replacing the original, which I might need to start over.
