Yes, she was a beautiful woman and not just in looks....She was beautiful through and through and one of the kindest people I have ever known.
My son was in the hospital here with pneumonia in both lungs so I was not able to fly to NC this week as I would have wanted so I'm very glad I did get to spend four months with her earlier this year.
She will be missed very much by her 4 children, 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Donna, how nice of you to say so....Her eyes were light brown/hazel....mine are darker brown, but everyone says I do look a lot like her....maybe its just that we shared a middle name... ;-) ...although in her later years she looked more like her own mom and I don't look anything like my grandmother!!! But I thank you!

Loss is devastating at any time of the year, but especially so in the midst of the holidays. The fact that she was such a loving mother to you is a wonderful blessing and will hopefully enable your memories of her to be of special comfort to you now and always. Sonia, I lost my precious mother right after Katrina - that January- the stress was terrible on older folks - mama was 86 but a young 86 in so many ways- I love these pictures of your mother - she was very beautiful.
