Many months ago, my tooth started to hurt badly. It had broken several months before that but there was never any pain associated with it. With no insurance I never went to take care of it. When my tooth did start to hurt about 6 months ago, i had several trips to the ER to get antibiotics. At one point my face was starting to swell. The hospital referred me to the health clinic and they have a dentist there. So I got into the health clinic and they look at me but they do not actually do dental there but they send me to the health department with an appointment in 6 months.
Yesterday was finally my appointment. He pulled my tooth. I am not one who takes easily to pain. It is a mind thing, I know. When I was young, my sister got her ears pierced and I almost fainted, my aunt had to sit me down and get me a soda because they said I turned pale. Years ago, I had another tooth taken care of and the dentist had to give me oxygen 3 times. So I told the dentist this so he was prepared. He was really great. I had to stop him several times, but I did better than I expected. Hubby was allowed to sit close by and he kept reassuring me.
But, I am hungry now and my mouth hurts and I don't know what I should eat. Yesterday I worked all day and came home and went right to the dentist. I never thought about eating before the appointment. I had half a subway sandwich at lunch, but that was it. I had some ice cream for breakfast because it was cold and soft.
Luckily, I don't work until later today, so I get to relax right now. But I am so glad that the tooth is finally taken care of.
