On looking for a potluck party recipe, I came across this sent to me in a recipe book in one of my Christmas cards. What do you think? I didn't sign up for a dish yet, because I have no clue what to make. This Friday i the last day to sign up.
I think these should be like candy, and I highly doubt that anything like this would be claimed. Do you think they would be good? Where do I find the mint flavoring? It calls for mint flavoring food coloring. I separated it in the ingredient list because I wasn't sure they made colored mint flavoring. Do they? Where do I find it? Would a Weis Markets grocery store carry it?
Holiday Party Mints:
One 8 ounce package Cream Cheese (softened)
Two 16 ounce boxes of powdered sugar
1 teaspoon of mint flavoring
food coloring
granulated sugar as desired
Gradually add cream cheese to powdered sugar. Add peppermint flavor.
Divide batch for two different colors or leave as one for one color. The mixture will be very stiff. Form into small balls and place on plastic wrap or waxed paper. Dip the bottom of a glass in powdered sugar and flatten the mint balls. Dust with granulated sugar to make them sparkle.

You can buy mint extract in the spice aisle.. right there beside the vanilla extract. The food coloring should be there too.
