You all know this child, our 12 year old granddaughter, is my heart, the light of my life. There is a special bond the two of us have that will never be replaced by anyone.
I know she is a very giving child. She's never had a problem sharing with others, giving to others or helping others (unless that means cleaning her room for her mom and dad). But that's just a typical kid.
We have taken her shopping with us since her birth. She learned very early what those big jugs of money were sitting on some counters. Some meant there was a person that was very sick, another may have had a house fire and lost everything, others were simply collecting money for food drives, local charities, etc. We always gave her money to add to the jars.
When 'A' started shopping with her 'own' money, without any coaxing, she took her leftover change and put it in the jars. It didn't matter what it was for, she's always found a jug and gave.
We were shopping a while back and she had $3.99 leftover after her purchase. She looked for a jug and there wasn't one at that store. The next store we went in was the dollar store. Everything a dollar, dollar store. I was prepared to add a few cents to her $3.99 so she could buy 4 items. Wrong!! We walked passed the counter and there sat a huge jug for a sick man with no means to pay his hospital bills. She said "Mamaw wait." I turned to see her digging in her purse. She took out her $3.99 and put it all in the jug.
I have never ever been disappointed in this child. But I will tell you one thing, I have never been so proud of her and her unselfish consideration and thoughtfulness for others. We could all learn a lot from kids.
(BTW, she got 4 things that day, compliments of Mamaw!) ;) I love that child.

Larry, thank you so much.
Rob, She knows My Rob and likes him. If he told her he needed it, she'd probably donate to his cause. lol I'm not going to tell her what it's for though. LOL
Kathy, thanks so much.
Tiffany, I could've bawled right in the store, I was so proud.
Heather, thank you, I think so.
Kind and generous.
