30 pounds of grits. $12.00 [Sams]
50 pounds whole wheat flour. $12.00 [Sams]
25 pounds of beans. $15.00 [Sams]
20 pounds of Basmati Rice $15.00 [Sams]
50 pounds of sugar $18.00 [Sams]
6 pounds of yeast $12.00 [Sams]
25 pounds of salt $6.00 [Sams]
12 pounds baking soda $6.00 [Sams]
15 pounds bacon $45.00 [Sams]
25 5 gallon buckets/lids $50.00 [Local bakery]
...added later, and NOT reflected in total costs 15 pounds of shortening
(lard to us country types) for cooking)...

Have some instant mashed potatoes, and I need to get more of this, as well as more lard.

since I first did this I have started using BAKING POWDER which is a hellofalot cheaper and easier to keep, if not quite as tasty or good for ya.
Also I would have gotten cornmeal too, just slipped my mind, AND dried fruit as well for the mix and maybe not quite so much sugar. and probably dried ONIONS as well.
As to the bacon I now find it is easier and a LOT cheaper to buy the cooked bacon bits at Sam's instead of looking for REAL smoke cured dry bacon.
Those are hard rations for sure.
I have a deep well... and several tanks.
