You know, everyone always thinks that losing weight is a good thing. Going down to a smaller size is great right? Well, I can't tell you the issues I've had with shopping since losing the weight that I have. I know my current bras don't fit the way that they should, so I went bra shopping yesterday. What a headache. I just can't find the right size for myself any more. I got measured and everything, but I still wasn't able to find what I needed. I don't know what style I need for my frame or anything like that. I went to a department store and another intimates store, but I just couldn't seem to find any help really. Any advice from anyone out there?

There used to be a lingerie home party plan that also had certified bra specialists, but when I did a Google search, I couldn't find the company. I guess it closed like many homie parties. That's sad, because it had been around for years (and not one of those pleasure party companies).
In my searching, I did find a "healthy bra company". The custom made bras run from $65 to $130. My mom used to have to spend about $30 on hers back when I was young and the off the shelf bras cost as little as $3.
And I am going through that same thing. Good thing I kept a lot of clothes from my thinner days :)
I went in for a fitting last spring and was feeling very smug (I admit it) because the size that the professional deemed correct was the exact size that I purchased off the shelf. Still, I bought a couple of the department store's expensive ones. They're less scratchy.
A word about Victoria's Secret: I went in to find my size and they only carried bands up to size 38. I was the next size up! Grrr. I was pretty steamed by that. As if the store didn't want anyone to patronize them who had less than a perfect figure.
Talk about elitists.
congrats on loosing the weight
I would go to Macy's first. Even if you end up not buying one there, they have brands that carry half sizes. Go in with the mood to try stuff on(I can't be the only person that has to be in the right mood to stuff themselves into clothing...). Anyway, try on as many as you need to, then remember what brand and size work for you. Sometimes places like Wal-Mart and Target will carry the brands too, sometimes it's better just to get a Macy's coupon and buy them there.
Good luck!
Also, the Maiden Form stores usually have a good selection and a bigger variety of sizes than most other stores.
Hope this helps. We always lose weight in the places we'd rather keep it. I do anyway. It is a pain in the wahtookie isn't it? I can empathize with you. Have a great day! :-)
