The Thanksgiving holidays were enlivened by several Gather articles which trumpeted the hysterical notion that there was some legal impediment to Barack Obama's election as president.
Entirely without evidence, and relying on long chains of "what ifs" (devastatingly mocked by Doyle), these articles held out the hope of a Supreme Court review of a case without any evidence.
I can imagine the terror and anxiety produced in the tiny, slogan-filled minds of the christo-fascist right when they contemplate the election of a mixed-race, liberal, intellectual as President. Such a thing contradicts everything they stand for: race-baiting, anti-intellectualism, religious and economic fundamentalism, and the domination by fear.
I cannot, however, accept the idiotic pretension that every claim of an imaginary boogeymen must be examined by the High Court.
If that were the case, the Awol in Chief would be on trial for demon posession.
It is my long-standing personal belief that Dear Leader Bush II is posessed by the demons of unintelligibility and corruption. I believe he should be examined by an exorcist, and compelled to endure a trial by ordeals to determine his innocence.
Clearly, some one who is "posessed" is no longer the person who was elected.
The person elected no longer exists, and the posessed Bush does not meet the Constitutional requirements for continued tenure.
My suit to compel George W. Bush to prove that he has not been posessed by demons is now headed to the Supreme Court.
(Oooops, the Supreme Court is not hearing the arguments of delusional crackpots these days)

The delusion is pretty thick and drowning in crapola was not how I wanted to go, so I left.
This strong supporter of Obama would like to see it put to rest under 6 feet of soil.
The only way to do that is for Obama to release all medical, educational and birth documents just like all other candidates, that should be an easy thing to do. It should be done before January so that we all can start talking about something important.....
unless of course there is something to the wacko theory.
And now that The Great Usurper, Chester A. Arthur, has been outed, America has to go back to the way it was on September 19,1881 and have a little do-over.
Y'all better get ready for it.
Between the war and the economy and the environment we're faced with threats so huge that all these petty nitpicky arguments are the equivalent of Nero's fiddling. If we don't address these big issues and take definitive action immediately, nationality won't matter much at all. Dead is dead.
Now that I have a little time off, most of them still seem to be sleeping off the tryptophan.
They didn't put his eye color on his birth certificate! Clearly it's all a plot! O the horror!
Ina, they're still out there and kicking. You'll be stunned to know that, since they had complete faith that the SCOTUS would learn Obama a thing or two, that they're now sure the SCOTUS has been bought off and sold the American public up the river. Believe me, nothing can stop these fruitcakes. The plot sickens
I hear you, Stephanie.
I seldom leave cmments forthe wackos because the twisted cowards never leave comments on articles which contradict their delusions.
Indeed, Ruth.
I am very glad that you are pointing out the sick moral values of the wacko right, Kim.
It is galling to hear Republicans, of all people, now express concern about Constitutional limits, the rule of law, and the importance of countng every ballot.
One of the first things they might learn during their long exile in the Wilderness.
I'm ready for this. (Sounds like something Sarah Palin's church would support.)
The facts have never mattered to the rightwing nutcases on Gather.

One would think that the "evangelical" churches might be a bit more concerned about corruption and law-breaking by public officials.
I continue to be surprised at the gruesome appetite for torture among members of the Christo-fascist right.
While it is disgusting and sad, Sandy, I can still recall a time when the mainstream Protestant churches were progressive forces in small towns and communities.
