Pink Ice Pointsettias and Christmas Trees - Florida style

Every year we get our tree from the local Farmer's Market. This year I took my new camera along.

They have a new pointsettia called

Pink Ice  - with white striations in the pink leaves. 

Lovely, aren't they?
  




More pink beauties - I loved the sun and shadow play in this shot.











....and I thought I'd share the shot of the boat parked in the middle of the Christmas trees:)

Christmas in Florida!

(Taken through the windshield of our car as we were leaving.) 


I love the traditional red and ever popular vanilla cream pointsettias too, ....








...but, in the end we came home with a Christmas tree and two pink ice pointsettias - now I wish I'd picked up two more:)

This new color is gorgeous. I like the white ones, but I could be tempted away with pink. The boat photo is appropo. We have snow everywhere here in the Midwest (with more due tomorrow night). The only fishing being done around here soon will be ice fishing.
I've seen them and they ARE beautiful. Loved all your photos.

Now we're talking! Don't tell anyone, but I don't even like red and green. I use all pink and burgundy in my decorating. Lots of blues and purples, too. Just not a fan of red.

Beautiful. I hadn't seen these before. I tend not to buy poinsettias because I just kill them. I really don't know how to keep them alive.

I do not believe I've seen pink here in Arkansas ~ red and white, yes, but no pink. These are absolutely glorious Ms Rose ~ I've read how to keep them alive during the off season it pointsettas are just as tempermental as orchids (which I am trying - not winning the battle, but am trying)
On a side issue (sort of) one of my dreams upon retirement (11 months away now) is to have a green house to play/work in ~ I will add pink pointsettas to my wish list for the room ~ many hugs to a wonderful lady ~J

We got some enormous poinsettias here in Dallas this year. A super nursery here in town had some poinsettias around up to four feet tall if you can believe that! Absolutely awesome.

My Sister bought a few to put throughout her home but since those were so big and I don't have the size place that I did last Christmas I only bought a couple of the two foot tall ones. I will taken pictures of all of my Christmas regalia soon and post.

Love the pink one and the white ones the best but noting like the red ones at this huge size. I've also seen the white ones dyed blue and gree and purple. Awesome to look at.

Rose ~ Just wanted to tell you that I saw some white ones today with gold sprinkled glitter on them and they looked so pretty that they looked fake.

Esther - Pointsettias seem to thrive in Florida. I may plant some next year, once we are done with our renovation. I'll stick with the red but a white and pink would be nice too.
